    Description

    Here we have a
Rare & Scarce Antique 'Unmarked' Heavy Duty Medical Surgeon's Post Mortem Amputation Bone Saw.
This heavy duty saw has no maker mark.  This saw appears to have been manufactured in the "pre-sterilization era" when medical instruments still had handles made of ebony, rosewood or bone. This saw has a nice solid ebony handle. There are no chips, cracks or breaks in the handle.  All of the metal parts of the saw are in very good condition with some areas only showing light discoloration.  The heavy duty thick blade is still sharp with teeth that roll up over the nose of the blade.  The blade is nice and straight.  The blade has a metal reinforced tang where it enters the handle and it appears to go all the way through the handle, ending with a very nice sculpted brass and steel fitting at the end of the handle. This saw is 11" long.  No cracks, breaks or repairs.
