    Description

American coin silver tongs with shell grips and Fiddle pattern handle arms, and hand engraved on the bow in script "NSG."  The tongs weigh 1.92 troy oz. and measure 6 7/8 inches long and 1 5/8 inches across the bow.  Marked on both inside arms "R. & W. Wilson", producing silverwares in Philadelphia, Pa. c. 1826-1846.  There are fine shallow surface scratches overall, and a few tiny dark tarnish spots on the inside bow, and some tarnish on the shells, otherwise in fine antique condition, and quite capable of handling olives, onions, peppers and other condiment items, a carefully held ice cube or even a sugar lump as originally intended.
