1797 C-3a R-3 Liberty Cap Half Cent Coin 1/2c

Description

Glossy dark chocolate brown with lighter brown highlights on the reverse. There are some dull contact marks, including one in the center of the obverse, another left of the L in LIBERTY, and a third over the E in UNITED. The legends are mostly clear but there is no date as that area is covered with the bust of an off center large cent. The F from OF on the large cent reverse is visible inside the arc of large cent dentils at the top of the reverse. Weight 76.5 grains.
